The short version

The cleaner runs in your browser. It does not require an account, an installation, or an image upload. Google Analytics is used for ordinary site measurement, but selected image files and their embedded metadata are not sent to Analytics.

Why it exists

Photos and generated images can contain more than visible pixels. Depending on the format and the software that created the file, metadata may include camera settings, capture time, GPS coordinates, authoring details, editing history, generation parameters, or content credentials. That information can be useful in an original, but it may be unnecessary in a copy prepared for a website, marketplace, client preview, or social post.

This tool gives people a narrow workflow: choose an image, inspect recognized metadata locally, rebuild the image from decoded pixels, verify the new file, and download the result. The original file is left unchanged.

How the local workflow works

  1. Your browser reads the selected JPG, PNG, WebP, or browser-decodable AVIF file.
  2. The page reports supported metadata structures it can recognize.
  3. The visible image is decoded, receives tiny RGB changes, and is re-encoded without copying supported metadata into the output.
  4. The output is scanned again before the download control is shown.

Transparent images are exported as lossless PNG. Other supported images are normally exported as JPEG at 92% quality. Re-encoding can change file size and fine image detail, so the downloaded copy should be reviewed before use.

What the tool does not promise

The cleaner targets supported embedded EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, PNG text, C2PA/JUMBF, and recognized AI-generation fields. It does not erase the visual meaning of an image. Pixel-level watermarks such as SynthID can remain, and a platform may still classify or match an image using its own systems. No platform, detection, copyright, or moderation outcome is promised.
