Terms of use
These terms describe the conditions for using Remove AI Metadata from Photo. By using the site or processing a file, you agree to use the tool responsibly and to review the output for your own needs.
Effective and last updated:
The tool makes a new, re-encoded image and checks for metadata structures it supports. It does not guarantee the removal of every proprietary field, pixel-level watermark, classifier signal, or platform label, and it does not change your legal obligations.
1. The service
Remove AI Metadata from Photo is a free, browser-based utility. It can inspect supported metadata locally, decode the visible image, apply tiny RGB changes, re-encode the pixels, scan the output for supported structures, and provide the resulting file for download. The site does not require an account and does not receive selected image files through the cleaner.
2. Permission to process files
You may use the tool only with images you own or otherwise have the rights and permission to process. You are responsible for copyright, license, privacy, confidentiality, employment, client, platform, and other obligations that apply to the image and its use.
You must not use the service to violate law, infringe rights, conceal unlawful conduct, misrepresent ownership or provenance, or evade applicable copyright and platform obligations. Metadata removal does not grant rights in an image and is not a substitute for obtaining permission.
3. Output changes and review
The output is not byte-for-byte identical to the source. Transparent images are exported as lossless PNG. Other supported images are normally exported as JPEG at 92% quality. File format, size, color values, fine detail, and compatibility can change. Tiny RGB changes and re-encoding create new pixel data and a new file-level fingerprint.
Keep the original file. Before publishing or replacing any asset, inspect the downloaded image, confirm its dimensions and transparency, and verify that it is suitable for the intended workflow. Do not rely on the service as the only backup, archival, legal, security, or privacy control.
4. Metadata and detection limits
The service targets recognized EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, PNG text, C2PA/JUMBF, and AI-generation fields in supported files. A successful output verification covers the structures this implementation checks; it is not a representation that every possible proprietary or malformed field has been removed.
SynthID and other pixel-level watermarks can remain because they are part of the image content. Visual classifiers, reverse-image systems, moderation tools, and publishing platforms may still identify, label, reject, or match an image. No result from a third-party platform or detection system is guaranteed.
5. Availability and changes
The site may change supported formats, processing behavior, limits, interface features, analytics, or availability without guaranteeing uninterrupted access. A browser update, unsupported codec, damaged file, memory limit, network problem, or third-party service can prevent the page or tool from working.
6. No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or a specific metadata, privacy, detection, legal, or platform outcome. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or inability to use the service, including lost files, lost revenue, publication problems, metadata that remains, or changes introduced by re-encoding. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Site content and third parties
The site’s interface, explanatory text, and guides are provided for general information and are not legal advice. External links and service providers, including Cloudflare and Google Analytics, operate under their own terms and policies. Use of this site is also subject to the privacy policy.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the service or its legal and operational requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
